I always thought that I had a good understanding of my dog’s behaviour having had Shamus for 9 years (since he was 4 weeks old) and Gracie for nearly seven years.  I thought that I was a good dog owner and had reasonable control of my dogs - how wrong I was !

What immediately struck me is that Els is able to control her own dogs with a quiet word or gesture, they are immediately responsive to her direction and even though all dogs will be dogs, Els has a manner that quietly controls and make dogs want to do their best.….

I had always had a problem with Shamus being possessive of me particularly on the beach, Els taught me to quickly put his lead on when he insisted on barking and to rein him in for a few minutes; quietly telling him not to bark.  After a few minutes I removed the lead and let him run again, but as soon as he came barking I leashed him again.  It took several days for him to get the message and we still have to return to the training periodically, but Shamus is 99% better than he was with such a simple piece of training.

I highly recommend Els Desart and her Trainimals program to anyone who would like to have more control and help cure those behavioural traits that can cause us angst as dog owners.   Give her a few minutes with your dog and she will quickly identify the issues and try to help you work with your dog to correct.

I have known Els for several years. The first time I met her, she came in with her lovely cross pointer “Dot”, she rescued from a local shelter. Our friendship grew fast. What can I say about Els and dogs: She has it, Els seems really to understands dogs. She lives for dogs and will go all the way to guide and help dog owners. I would recommend Els to every one who wants to learn how to communicate with their pooch.

We had the privilege to have Els Desart as a dog trainer in our school.

She was one of our best. She has a way of teaching people that is not given to everyone.

Els is very dedicated and has a heart for people and dogs. She always goes just the extra mile in order to help dog owners.
